After we take a 3-dimensional scan of your mouth, Dr. Chmura moves your teeth on the computer to their ideal positions.  He then orders a series of personalized wires which are bent by a precision robot to move you directly toward your proper alignment smoothly and more directly than with conventional braces!

Less Overall Discomfort

Anyone who has worn braces will probably tell you that wire adjustments and changes were the least favorite part of the process because they usually cause discomfort.  The SureSmile system is designed to maximize the therapeutic efficiency of each wire, which significantly reduces the amount of adjustments needed, which means less discomfort over the course of the treatment. 

More importantly, with Suresmile, we can use much gentler heat-activated wires to move teeth more efficiently and with ideal forces.  The reason these gentle wires cannot be used to finish in conventional orthodontics is that they won’t take bends without heating the wire, which is impractical in the office.  By directing the robot, the bends can be made and the wires heated precisely to the optimal temperature, setting the new shape memory in these gentle wires.

How does all this work?

First, a 3-D Image is taken of your teeth to assess your bite, through the use of the OraScanner.  It uses white light to take 3-D pictures of your teeth.

The images taken are then converted into a 3-D computerized model of your teeth.  Through using this model, photos and x-rays, Dr. Chmura can manipulate the model of your teeth to plan the outcome of your treatment, and select what will work best for you.

Dr. Chmura will then order custom archwires for your specific treatment needs.  Robots will precisely bend the wires, to the detailed requirements of your individual treatment plan.

By using this system, the result is the most efficient treatment solution available, in less time, fewer office visits, and less overall discomfort for you.
